MP Liz helps reopen gym
A community gym has been reopened after a revamp.
The Guru Nanak Community Centre, in Holy Bones, Leicester, was awarded £1,300 by the city council to buy new equipment.
MP Liz Kendall was invited to reopen the gym.
Ms Kendall said: "It was a real pleasure.
"We all know the benefits of exercise.
"Having decent facilities really helps people keep fit and active and this can transform our health and well-being.
"In this Olympic month, it was great to be opening locally supported facilities which stand to benefit many of my constituents."
The gym is free to use and is accessible to people of all ages.
Sulakhan Singh Dard, vice-president of the community centre said: "It will help promote good health, particularly among the more elderly members of the community."
