More than 200 people enjoyed a concert given by the talented African Children's Choir in Leicester.
Seventeen children aged eight, nine, 10 and 11, performed a 90-minute programme at the Big Shed, in Freeman's Common.
The youngsters from under-privileged backgrounds in Uganda were guests of the city's Covenant Life Church.
Church spokeswoman Veronica Stapleton said the choir was near the end of a lengthy tour of the UK which started in Scotland in September and more than 200 tickets had been sold in Leicester.
There was a collection which will go towards raising global awareness of the plight of the millions of orphaned and abandoned children in Africa.
