Some
iconic English "Georges" (fact or fiction, past or present, living or
dead) for St George's Day. Each one represents something quintessentially
English.
Pictured above: George Frideric Handel (1685-1759). Handel was a Baroque
composer famous for his operas, oratorios, and concertos. Handel was born in
Germany and received critical musical training in Italy before settling in
London and becoming a naturalised British subject. His works include Messiah,
Water Music, and Music for the Royal Fireworks. He's the only adopted
Englishman I'm allowing on this list.
