IS THIS STAR OF DAVID SIGNIFICANT?

I've seen this many a time and pondered its significance: the Star of David picked out in the brickwork on the side of a derelict shop building. This is at the corner of Hammercliffe Road and Forest Road, in Leicester's Northfields. Having passed it again today (twice) I thought it time to take a photo and post it here. I wonder if any reader can enlighten me. Is there a meaning behind this (for instance, indicating that the premises was a kosher shop), or is it merely a coincidence or artisan flourish that this design was incorporated into the wall?
